A new piece of writing dropped today on what every politician promises and none can deliver on: the shape of time.
Sound abstract enough?
Time, as an aspect of created reality, is nearly always what campaigns promise to give us a better version of. But having a more sober version of these promises allows us to have a more sober vision of what our common life can actually do.

My husband and I hiked remote canyons in Utah this week. The raw power of the wilderness revived our hearts. We were reminded the Scriptures often refer to God as mountains, rock, for a reason. Those mountains, like the Almighty, will still be here when we are long gone, like the people who drew pictographs 1500 years ago on those mountains. Trump will dead, Harris will be dead as will you and me. That neither diminishes our standing as God’s beloved but reminds of our place in time and the great limitations of our lives.
