My most recent piece with Christianity Today came out today, on why the way forward for anything isn’t another public statement, open letter, declaration of principles, or whatever. Most frequently, it gets framed as “Do We Need Another Barmen Declaration?”
No. No, we don’t.

Next Book Club: May 12th, on Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death
The last book club we did was fantastic, and we’re going to follow it up with a joint reading and discussion of Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves To Death. On May 12th, at 6:30 p.m., we’ll meet and discuss Part One.
It’s a very prescient book, and while written in 1986 originally, his criticisms and insights still sing pretty loudly. This will be available for all supporting subscribers.
Speaking of which:
If you’d like to become a supporting subscriber, I’m running a quick one-week offer: 50% off for one year, on both monthly and annual subscriptions.

Coming Soon
In the next week, look for us to continue on the series on the Decalogue, Part Two of the “war in an age of bureaucracy” talks, and a meditation on why Jesus’ head garment was neatly folded but the rags on his body were scattered.
The Spring has been bonkers, but looks to be winding down (fingers crossed). It’s my earnest intention to get back to a more regular pace again, including some goodies for supporting subscribers.
In the next few weeks, I’ll also have an announcement of some writing news that I’m pretty excited about. Stay tuned.
Lots to look forward to!
Eagerly awaiting part two of war in an age of bureaucracy.
Have my copy of Postman sitting on my desk waiting to be read.
Crap. I love Postman. He's the Tom Petty of woe-writers.
