Taking a two week hiatus here, and the final installment of the After Virtue reading group.
I’ve alluded to the fact that it’s been a very busy season writing, some of which I’ll push out through here in the next week or two. This weekend, I’ll be at Miami University in Ohio to deliver the annual Edward A. Puff Sr. and Edith Kottmyer Puff Memorial Lecture. You can check it out here, as well as the list of folks who have done this prior, and wonder with me how on earth I got invited to do this.
Later next month, I’ll be in Weatherford, Texas to deliver the Ben Arbour Memorial Lectures in Philosophy of Religion for a conference on war and religion. There’s several pieces in the pipeline for Christianity Today as well, which all should be out in the next month or so: two book reviews, a piece on Lent, and a long-promised argument for why we don’t need another Barmen Declaration.
Needless to say, all of this extra writing, on top of teaching an overload for my regular job, travel for student recruiting, being on our church’s pastor search committee, and being a dad and spouse, I’m way beyond overload right now.
SO:
I’m taking a break here until sometime later next month, most likely til after March 16th. I can feel the cracks showing, and need to step away for a bit to let some of the wobbling even out. I appreciate your understanding, and if you’re one of the paid subscribers, I’ll give everyone a free month in appreciation for your patience.
FINAL AFTER VIRTUE SESSION
Put it on your calendar! We’ll finish out After Virtue on March 24th, at 6:30 p.m. CST. It’s been a blast working through this with others, and I hope you’ll join us. I have ideas for the next one, but I’ll put a poll up to see if my instincts are correct.
As always, thanks for reading. I mean it: I appreciate it and can’t say it any more plainly than that.
Love your work, Myles.
Love you more.
You'll be within an hour of where I grew up when you visit Oxford, Ohio. And within 1.5 hours of where I am now. Enjoy the midwest
