Scoping out some plans for everyone, and some things for supporting subscribers.
Taking A Brief Hiatus
It’s the mid-semester crunch, so after this week, the newsletter will be taking a bit of a hiatus until March. I have a grant application to submit, a weekend intensive to prep for, a presentation, and a couple of key writing deadline all within the next week and a half.
BUT. Don’t despair:
Things to watch for in the coming months, between now and summer:
—John Cassian on the seven vices (a Lenten special)
—a new series of interviews with folks doing really interesting work in moral theology and Christian ethics. I know smart people and you should know them too!
—the relationship between risk and community life, or, how our natural aversions to loss both enable and inhibit community life.
—some short capsule reviews on reading
For supporting subscribers:
—a series introducing Dorothy Day, one of the 20th century’s heroes
—a series of Greatest Hits Books, short introductions to some of the most significant works in Christian ethics
—What’s the Natural Law?: A six installment series.
AND: if that weren’t enough, an invite to the next book discussion group, on a book to be named below. Answer with your preference, and let’s goooooooo:
If you’d like to join in on all the fun, the sale on supporting subscriptions runs through the end of February. Thanks, and see you on Thursday.
The lectionary will be in Judges at some point. Let's do it then.
Your titles are intriguing!!!
