Thank you for putting words to something I’ve been trying to put my finger on. I think another dangerous aspect of this trauma “industry” if you will, is that it has the potential to feel very confusing and minimizing for those who have truly suffered egregious harm. Often that harm has already caused them to doubt their perception, so to conflate abuse with the everyday reality of being in a sinful world can be that much more confusing. I don’t mean to say that both don’t have effects. But it’s similar to conflating dysfunction that still exists in a “good enough” attachment in a family and parental abuse. Very different things. One allows for rupture and repair and the other perpetuate pure chaos.
