Thanks for posting this. I listened to Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH when I was a teenager. The paragraph about scarcity struck me as applying also to things like fasting from food, or having time limits on discussions or projects. In these, too, the scarcity helps us discern and prioritize what's important.

Good thoughts. To quote Rich Mullins, “Sometimes the night is beautiful.” I think that ultimately the darkness of the coming night will help illuminate the promises of God more than before. Have fun on your trip! (Devil’s Den state park is one of my favorites with the sandstone crevice caves and I believe a nice colony of little brown bats.)
